Japan's recent income from tourism is about 11 billion which is a quarter of before widespread coronavirus. The peak is 49 billion in 2019 so it is clear that viruses caused big damage to tourism.
I couldn't find the information about the largest industries of tourism, but Japan's tourism is especially famous for delicious foods so the food and drink industry is the largest, I think.
