The Critical Initiative is looking for the best scholarly, critical, or research-oriented writing that CSUSM has to offer.  We want material submitted by students to go beyond just "A" quality writing.  TCI wants your very best work.

During the review process, we will be looking for three primary qualities...

  • Clarity - of purpose, syntax, and organization
  • Creativity - throughout all aspects of the work
  • Depth - showing consideration of material significantly beyond the surface level
