The conversation was regarding the need for more Latinos in the educational field. My question is where do we draw the line between adding more Latinos in education and filing positions for the sole purpose of having Latinos, thus, risking the addition of unprepared, underqualified professionals?
I someimes wish all teachers were Latinos at my site, a site which is grossly underrepresented in terms of the Latino males vs Latino male students. This worries me at least a little bit because i ask myself, when will these students see more positive male role models.
