Hi Eric,

It was interesting to read about your research topic of Vitamin D and its effects. During clinicals I have observes that may times Vitamin D deficiency is undertreated  specially in pediatric patients, who don't present with acute symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency .

On the other hand in some cases patients are prescribed higher doses of Vitamin D  but the follow up is poor, since the patients think that they are just taking extra vitamins. In such cases it is very important for the provider  to educate the patient / family regarding the importance of follow-up and to look into the drug interactions of different medication/ supplements their patients are on, specially patients who are taking Statins and coumadin.

Thank you for your post and research!
