Learning Outcomes
Discuss the history of Integrative Medicine (IM), IH, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) within the US Healthcare System.
Describe the differences and similarities between IM, IH, and CAM.
Characterize the use of the Transdisciplinary Model of Evidence-Based Integrative Healthcare in a primary care setting.
List at least three main Principles of Integrative Healthcare.
Present at least one evidence-based (from peer-reviewed research literature) allopathic and CAM care strategy or treatment that will address the clinical problem focus for your case study report and presentation.
Activities
The learner will:
1. Read all module assigned readings.
Read:
Rakel, Chapter 1 “The Philosophy of Integrative Medicine”
2. View all module power points and videos.
3. Review the current literature on the diagnosis (clinical problem) and the evidence-based allopathic and CAM care and treatments that will be the focus of your case study report.
4. Participate in Class Discussion per the guidelines provided.
