Resources for Planning, Teaching and Reflecting

This section contains resources for Cooperating Teachers and Teacher Candidates to aid in their co-teaching planning conversations. As co-teachers, you will be spending a great deal of time together, planning, reflecting, and sharing space and resources. It is essential that you begin with something likened unto a "nuptual agreement." Subsequent conversations reiterate your agreement and the differentiated roles you will play when engaged in co-teaching. Resources are provided for you as you engage in the recursive nature of teaching: planning, teaching, and reflecting.

      • This template provides a list of topics for Co-teachers to discuss in making a "working together agreement."

      • This document provides a suggested timeline for inducation and the gradual change of lead planning from the Cooperating Teacher to the Teacher Candidate.

      • This form guides the teacher candidates to reflect upon their teaching. It should be completed by the teacher candidate and returned by e-mail to the university supervisor on a weekly basis.

      • This is the handout that candidates, supervisors, and on site liaisons received as part of thier initial orientation to co-teaching in clinical practice. The PowerPoint is posted above this handout.

      • Here is the PowerPoint that was used with Multiple Subject, Concurrent, and ICP candidates, and their university supervisors, cooperating teachers, and on site liaisons. Please feel free to download it and use is a reminder of the four co-teaching approaches and associated cautions as well as preview useful tools for planning instruction and engaging in problem-solving.
